Everything you need for your first game
Pickleball is easy to start, but the serving order, kitchen rule and unusual scoring can feel like a lot when someone explains them between points. A beginner lesson slows the game down and gives each idea time to make sense.
You will learn by doing. We begin with paddle control and a comfortable serve, then build a rally before adding court position and scoring. By the end, you will play guided points and know what to do next.
What happens in your first lesson
Get comfortable
Learn a relaxed grip, ready position and simple movement patterns that protect your balance.
Build the rally
Practise forehands, backhands and controlled contact before adding more difficult shots.
Learn the court
Understand the kitchen, baseline, service boxes and where to stand during doubles.
Play real points
Put serving, scoring and the two-bounce rule together in a relaxed guided game.
What to bring
- Comfortable athletic clothes
- Supportive court or running shoes
- Water and sun protection for outdoor sessions
- Your paddle, if you have one; loaner equipment is available
Lessons for adults, seniors and couples
Every lesson can be adapted to your mobility, fitness and goals. Beginners who prefer a gentler pace can take more breaks and focus on efficient movement. Couples and friends can learn together, making it easier to keep playing after the lesson.
